Auxiliary assistance water-tank fire engines (known as HTLF in Germany) combine two fire engines in one: they are fitted with the technical fire-fighting equipment of a water-tank engine, but also carry all the apparatus required of an auxiliary assistance vehicle, e.g. hydraulic tools, as required for traffic accidents.

Like its full-size brother, our model of the HTLF is a genuine multi-talent. Even in its basic form, the kit contains all the parts required to make a model which looks very close to the full-size vehicle. For example, all the cabin doors can be opened and closed, as can the blinds over the equipment compartments. Of course, the roof loading area is included in the basic kit, complete with ladders, lighting mast and storage compartment, as are all the internal crew cab fittings and many more fine detail fittings.

As an option, the HTLF can be fitted with a two-speed gearbox, an all-wheel drive system, lighting and sound functions and a water pump complete with tank. For the icing on the cake you can fit the comprehensive expansion set for the technical fire-fighting equipment, and install the vehicle´s crew (firemen).

This absolutely spectacular model is the result of an extensive development programme involving the collaboration of the Linde company. The Linde H50 is one of the world's best-known and most widely employed fork-lift trucks. It is hard to imagine a place of employment in which this floor transport vehicle could not be used. Thousands of the full-size vehicle have been built, and it forms an ideal basis for our exciting new model.
In developing this model we kept two crucial points in mind at all times: scale fidelity and full functionality.
In a vehicle less than 20 cm long we had to find space for all the model's essential electronic and mechanical control systems. This we managed, keeping to our chosen scale not only in terms of the vehicle's length, width and height, but also in its maximum load-carrying capability.
The H50 can safely raise, transport and lower a cargo weighing up to 1250 g, and the basic running and lifting functions can be controlled using a standard 4-channel radio control system. The model's ingenious design keeps construction relatively straightforward. Constructing the Linde H 50 requires only a basic set of tools, and no sanding or painting are required.

How the fork lift mechanism works:

An electric motor installed at the base of the mast drives a horizontal shaft fitted with a worm gear at each end. The worm gear engages with a pinion mounted on a vertical length of studding. The studding is fitted inside an internally threaded metal tube. This mechanism takes the place of the hydraulic lifting cylinder of the full-size machine. The lift cylinder (the threaded spindle) raises the fork bearer by raising the inner (top) part of the mast by means of two chains which pass over guide pulleys. The load rises at half the speed of the inner mast section.
