Victory Models Mercury The Russian 20 gun brig Mercury was laid down in Sevastopol on January 28, 1819. She was designed as a patrol ship to guard the Northern Caucasus coast. Built of Crimean oak, with a shallow draught and equipped with oars, the Mercury was launched on 7 May 1820 and broken up on November 9, 1857.
The Mercury fought in many important naval battles during her career; the most notable being when Mercury (commanded by lieutenant A. Kazarsky) and two other ships were sailing back home from the Anatolia coast and faced a large Turkish fleet. Due to light winds Mercury was not able to escape (she was not a rapid ship), while two other russian ships went ahead. Two turkish SHIPS OF THE LINE engaged Mercury into an apparently hopeless battle, which, however the Russian crew decided to make a bold stand. After few hours of heavy fighting, the much smaller and massively out matched (on paper) Russian brig, maneuvering both under sail and oars, had severely damaged the rigging of turkish ships (dismasting at least one of them) and thus forced them to retreat. It is recorded that after the battle, a navigator of one the Turkish ships made a comment praising Mercury for her gallantry and strength, and the captain for his bravery;
If in the great deeds of ancient or our times there are the feats of bravery, so this act put the others in the shade and the name of a hero should be wrote by the gold letter in the shrine of glory: the captain was Kazarsky, and the name of this brig was Mercury
Mercury is one of the most famous vessels of the Russian Navy, and Amati have researched this vessel as much as possible to make it as accurate and well detailed as it can be.
The Mercury kit includes laser cut wooden frames, keels and decks; double planking for the hull; metal fittings and brass photo-etched parts. Plans and instructions are included as well as a laser cut wooden stand.

Planet Radio Control Systems 2.4gig Planet has been carefully and ergonomically designed with a new twin hand grip system that enables easy and safe handling of your radio. Now available as a Transmitter, Receiver and Combo Pack so you can install this system to replace your old 27mHz or 35mHz set with ease at a very affordable price. The Planet T5™ transmitter and receiver have been designed for precision helicopter and aircraft flying and feature Advanced 2.4GHz control. 2.4GHz is a worldwide frequency that has many applications and uses. This technology is very suited to enhance safe flying through the model and hobby industry. 2.4Ghz technology creates the advantage for a ‘bound’ relationship between the Transmitter and Receiver. The setting up of this relationship is known as ‘binding’. In a ‘bound’ transmitter/receiver relationship the receiver is exclusively bound to your transmitter and can only respond to signals received from your transmitter. It will not respond or receive signals from any other device or transmitter transmitting on the 2.4GHz frequency band. Binding is done at the factory. Once a transmitter is bound to it’s receiver, re-binding of transmitter and receiver is not normally required. Transmitter features: The Planet transmitter has been expertly designed and manufactured and incorporates full 4-function control via two dual axis control sticks and a 5th function for lights/retracts, etc as well as high quality adjustable height stick units and adjustable stick spring tensions (convertible between Mode II (throttle left) and Mode I (throttle right)). The transmitter also features a socket for an optional flight Simulator cable set, servo reversing switches, LCD battery status display, moulded ergonomic rear and side grips, carry handle, neckstrap hang point and is powered by 4 AA pencells. Kit Contents : 1 x Transmiter 1 x R6m 2.4 Receiver

She continued in active service for the next 34 years which included her most famous moment “the Battle of Trafalgar” in 1805. In 1812 the Victory was retired from frontline duty and anchored in Portsmouth Harbour, on the south coast of England. For the next 110 years the Victory remained at her moorings in Portsmouth Harbour fulfilling a combination of practical and ceremonial roles. In 1922, amid fears for her continued survival, the Victory was moved into Portsmouth’s Royal Naval Dockyard and placed in No2 Dry Dock. Her Majesty’s Ship Victory is the only surviving naval warship that represents the skill of naval dockyard shipwrights, ship designers and the industrial ability of Britain during the mid 18th century.

H.M.S. Pegasus was the sixth vessel built of the Swan Class of ship rigged sloop, of which twenty five of the class were built from 1766 to 1780. Pegasus, as with the entire Swan class was designed by Williams and her construction was ordered by the Admiralty on 1st August 1775 to be built at Sheerness Dockyard. The keel was laid in May 1775 and launched on 27th December 1776.
The Swan class of 6th Rate sloops were unusually attractive for the class of vessel, with not only very sleek hull lines but also the unusual amount of decoration for the size of vessel. They were built just before the Admiralty issued orders that all vessels (especially lesser rates) were to have the minimal amount of decoration and carvings to save any unnecessary costs, due to the ever continuing war with France and other nations.
There is little remaining about H.M.S. Pegasus’ operational career, but from what little evidence there is, Pegasus was commissioned mainly for convoy escort duty and dispatch duty. Pegasus had a very short operation career, foundering off Newfoundland on 31st October 1777, her sister, H.M.S. Fly also foundered off Newfoundland some years later in 1802. The Swan Class measured 97’ 7” on the gun deck and displaced 300 tons. They carried 125 officers and men and initially carried 14 guns (later 16) and 16 swivel guns. The original plans of the Pegasus still exist, and it is with these plans the kit is based upon.
The kit includes the following; Laser cut wooden parts throughout. Many photo etched brass detail sheets that include window frames, deadeye strop/chainplate fittings, footrope stirrups and other fine mast and yard detail, gunport scuttles, hinges – the list is endless. Full size plans, which include very easy to follow rigging detail and Sail detail are also included, along with sail cloth if you wish to rig your model with main sails. (Not stunsails). The copper plates for below the waterline are of a completely new design. They are so accurate that there is a left and right side to the plates, and there are no unseemly over protruding nail heads, everything is scaled at 1:64th. Accompanying the plans is a fully illustrated building manual, taking you through every stage of the critical hull construction. There is also a full English instruction booklet, describing every detail of each stage of the main construction, along with histories.

Now available H.M.S Hood Almost Ready To Run ARTR (Almost Ready To Run) An accurate scale model of the Royal Navy's battle cruiser of 1918. The Admiral class ships were developed during the First World War to counter the threat of the German Mackensen classes, but only HMS Hood was completed. The vessel was commissioned in 1920, while her three sister ships were cancelled and broken up. The ship was named after Admiral Samuel Hood, first Viscount Hood (1724 - 1816) The Battle of Skagerrak showed that battle cruisers were vulnerable to steeply angled artillery fire, but construction of the Hood continued despite this discouraging experience, even though the idea of developing a completely new design with improved armour was under consideration at the time. In the 1920's the ship became a national monument in Great Britain after gaining world-wide fame by completing a circumnavigation of the globe. In 1941 the Hood, together with the Prince of Wales, took part in the hunt for the Bismarck (accompanied by the Prinz Eugen). During this action the ship came under devastating steep-angle fire from the Bismarck, which succeeded in gaining a hit in the main magazine. The gigantic resultantexplosion split the Hood in two, and the wreck sank in just two minutes; there were only three survivors. The Prince of Wales was subsequently forced to break off the fight and turn away after suffering severe damage from artillery. A top-class, high-quality model with superb detailing. Schnellboot Typ-100 New from Italeri this large scale Schellboot Type S-100 Swarms of them emerged from the morning mist, launched their lightening attack and disappeared as quickly as they had come. They were called the "Greyhound of the Sea". At the beginning of World War II the Friedrich Lürssen shipyard, Vegesack carried out successful pioneer work and developed a fast, seaworthy type of speedboat that was capable of top speed even in heavy seas, had brilliant manoeuvrability and was built until the end of the war without major modifications. These speedboats, also called S-Boats, generally proved their worth on escort and security missions, sea reconnaissance, mine warfare and in particular in combat against enemy submarines and surface units. They operated primarily off the Dutch and French coasts, along the English coast and in the Channel as well as in the North Sea and the Baltic and were also used in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The ultimate variant to be operational in significant numbers was the so-called S-Boat type S-100, which was produced from 1943 onwards and is reputed to be the best fast patrol boat of its time. The S-100 class was also called the "calotte", as it had a rounded armoured bridge made of welded segments (approx 10-12 mm armour plated steel) It was driven by 3 Daimler-Benz MB 511-V engines giving it an overall capacity of approx. 7500 hp and developing an outstanding speed of 43.5 knots (briefly accelerating to 48 knots).

WP U-16 Mini U-Boat The U-16 is based on a submarine operated by the German Federal Navy. The sub features a real static diving system utilising a vertical movement motor which controls a flood tank. As the tank floods, the boat starts to sink under its own weight; it surfaces using the same method. The result is that the model can "hover" (remain stationary) in the water. Excellent manoeuvrability isobtained by the stern thruster combined with the relatively short hull - the model is shorter than scale. The drive battery can be charged quickly and easily, as the switch socket doubles as the charge socket. The two red searchlights glow when the boat is running, making the model look truly realistic. As the submarine is so small, it can easily be operated in the bath or an aquarium. Operating instructions in German, English and French. Factory-assembled and painted model submarine, ready to run; radio control transmitter, battery charger and small items.
RC functions :Right / left steering ,Drive motors On / Off ,Fill / drain flood tank
Specification: Hull length approx.132 mm,Beam approx. 33 mm, Height approx. 50 mm,All-up weight incl. RC approx. 72 g Max. diving depth approx. 0.5 m

New From Model Slipway The Tamar class is the result of several years of research and development by the RNLI to produce the next generation of slipway-launched lifeboat. It is virtually unsinkable and if it capsizes in the stormy seas around the British Isles, it will right itself within a few seconds. The Tamar will gradually replace the Tyne class. The lifeboat includes the computerised Systems and Information Management System (SIMS) that enables crew to control many of the lifeboat's functions remotely from the safety of their seats. Other features include advanced ergonomics that reduce the impact on the crew as the lifeboat crashes through waves, and a powered Y-class boat stored behind a transom door to allow immediate deployment. The Y-boat is accessed by lifting a section of the rear deck, then launched and recovered on to a ramp provided by the lowered transom door.The kit contains all the required parts to build the model: * Two glassfibre mouldings: the hull and the deck * Prop-shafts, propellers, brass rudders; a bow-thruster tube * CNC-cut and printed styrene parts for the construction of the cabin * Detailed cabin interior comprising the seats and front bulkhead from vac-formed styrene * A set of fittings and stanchions manufactured from high grade cast alloy * Three large frets of etched brass components including detailed window frames, instrumentation, interior detail etc. * Pre-formed mast arches from brass tube * Vac-formed styrene radar, bow fender, liferaft boxes, liferings, the filler bays and hose reel * A vac-formed styrene kit for the Y-class boat with Lettering and Numbers * Rubber fendering, wire, dowel etc. * Self-adhesive Lifeboats lettering and RNLI flags * Three main plans and over 70 isometric drawings for ease of construction
